Imagine the feeling you get when you tune in to watch your favorite movie or TV show. Well, some of your favorite stars can never watch their own movies.

Here are 20 stars who absolutely refuse to watch their own work.

1. Emma Stone

In Variety's "Actor on Actor" series, Stone revealed to Timothee Chalamet that she has never watched her popular movie Easy A. " I haven’t seen it. No, I’ve seen some scenes. But I went to a friends and family screening to see it and I had to get up and walk out. Who wants to watch themselves for that long?" she confessed.

2. Javier Bardem

"The fact that I like to make characters doesn't mean that I like to watch my characters being made, my performance. I can't even watch that f****** nose, that f****** voice, those ridiculous eyes. I can't handle that," the Academy Award-winning actor revealed in a GQ interview.

3. Maggie Smith

In an event titled "Dame Maggie Smith In Conversation", held as a part of BFI + Radio TV  Festival, Smith revealed that she "really doesn't like to watch herself."

4. Andrew Garfield

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Garfield "fears watching himself will kill a magic he doesn’t want to understand too clearly." "I don’t want to be aware of what I’m doing. As soon as I am, I’m less open", the Amazing Spider-Man star admits.

5. Adam Driver

In an episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, Driver revealed that he is not a fan of watching his own movies. "I'm used to doing plays. I came from a theatre background, so it never really equated to me," the Star Wars star said. He also admitted that he had made an exception for the final movie in the Star Wars Skywalker saga.

6. Constance Wu

In an episode of Live Kelly and Ryan, Wu revealed that even though she has watched Crazy Rich Asians, she will not watch her newer ones like Hustler. The reason behind this is that she wants to "focus on the present" and want to "avoid being too self-critical."

7. Tom Hanks

Hanks believes watching his own movies is a "horrible mistake." In an interview with ABC News, he explained his reasoning thus: "Because you never learn what to do. You only sort of learn what not to do. The thing about looking at the old movies is that they don't change"

8. Reese Witherspoon

"I have absolute amnesia about every movie I have ever made. I won't watch them because if I did I would spiral into a state of self-hate,"  Witherspoon revealed in an interview with the Daily Express.

9. Al Pacino

In an interview with USA Today, Al Pacino admitted, "There's no real need [to go back]. I've seen it; I know what it is. If it's good, I feel lucky. If it's not, it's something you try to forget." He also revealed that he makes an exception if one of his old movies is playing on the television.

10. Angelina Jolie

Jolie more so likes the "process of doing them (her movies) than watching them," she revealed in an interview on Good Morning America. She also said that she watches Brad Pitt's movies.

11. Jesse Eisenberg

"I don't watch anything I've been in, and I don't read reviews or analysis of movies I've been in, or my plays,"  he revealed in an interview with Business Insider.

12. Johnny Depp

In an interview with The Independent, Depp said that he can never watch his own films. "In a way, once my job is done on a film, it’s really none of my business. I stay far away as I possibly can … I don’t like watching myself,” he explained.

13. Joaquin Phoenix

"Paul Thomas Anderson [the director] got me to watch The Master, and I saw Her. Those are the only two I’ve seen. I thought I might be mature enough to watch and learn. To think: these are the mistakes that were made. But it’s still something I struggle with… Oh, this sounds stupid. Who gives a shit?" Phoenix revealed this in an interview with Time Out London

14. Ben Foster

"I don’t enjoy watching what I do most of the time. I’m usually pretty disappointed with how it was handled. That’s the hard truth about it. Filmmakers and financiers come under pressure to serve a certain result, and that’s not necessarily the one we started with. I come in and I build, and sometimes they handle it well, and sometimes they don’t. I try not to worry about it and move on to the next one," Foster revealed in a Metro interview.

15. Nicole Kidman

According to a Daily Mail interview, out of all her incredible movies, Kidman has watched only Moulin Rouge! and Australia. "I don't usually see my films, but because of Baz I had to see it," she said of Australia. "I saw 'Moulin Rouge.' I've really only seen that and this in my whole career."

16. Matthew Fox

In a Newsweek roundtable discussion, Matthew Fox revealed he doesn't watch himself on screen. "I loved the story. I got it all from the script. I just really am not comfortable watching myself,” Fox admitted.

17. Andrew Lincoln

Andrew Lincoln does not like watching himself onscreen because he does not want to watch his mistakes. "My job here is just to be as truthful as I can in this role. It’s the same thing as not reading press or reviews. You can’t do both. You can’t get good stuff and not get the bad as well,” Lincoln explained in an interview with EW.

18. Helena Bonham Carter

 "It's not like I am going to do exactly the same part next year, so what's the point? I love acting because I love doing it. You do it so that other people can watch it if they want to watch it," Carter stated in an interview with The Telegraph.

Harry Potter star Ruper Grint revealed in a Variety interview that he has seen only the first three movies of the franchise during premiers and that he stopped watching the movies after. He also revealed that now that he has a daughter, he might watch the movies with her.
