A while back, we asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us the saddest TV scenes — here are the best from sitcoms and comedies.

1. On Friends, when Phoebe said goodbye to the triplets she'd carried:

9. On Brooklyn Nine-Nine, when Rosa responded to an active shooter call and the precinct found out:

Holt tells everyone that there's an active shooter situation with multiple casualties and Jake says that Rosa's there

10. On Scrubs, when it was revealed that Ben was dead after Dr. Cox had been talking to him for the whole episode, and they were at his funeral:

Ben walks away and JD asks Cox "where do you think we are"

11. On MA*SH, when Radar told everyone Henry Blake's plane was shot down when he was on his way home:

Radar says Henry's plane was shot down over Japan and spun out, and that there were no survivors

12. On Full House, when Jessie moved out and said goodbye to Michelle, and she gave him her pig:

Jessie and Michelle say bye to each other, then Jessie hugs Michelle's stuffed animal outside the door crying

13. On The Big Bang Theory, when Sheldon and Amy broke up:

Sheldon pulling out a ring and saying "Well Gollum, you're an expert of rings. What do I do with this one?"

14. On MA*SH, when Hawkeye remembers that the woman he told to keep her chicken quiet actually was holding a baby, and that she killed her baby to protect them:

Hawkeye cries that he didn't mean for the woman to kill it, and that he just wanted it to be quiet, but it was a baby, and she smothered it

15. On Scrubs, when Dr. Cox lost three organ transplant patients in a row after pushing for them:

JD tells a devastated Dr. Cox to remember what he told JD, that you can't come back from blaming yourself for others' deaths, and Dr. Cox says he's right

16. On Modern Family, when Phil spent one last day with his dad before he died:

Phil's dad tells him he took over the family business by keeping life fun. In a confessional, Phil says it was the best day with his dad, but he didn't know it was the last. At his funeral, Phil says to tell people you appreciate them

Zoey asks what to do when she can't hear her dad sing anymore, and he says she'll always hear him if she listens

25. On Futurama, when Fry found out it was his nephew, not his brother, who went to space, and that his brother named his son after Fry:

the show flashes back to Fry's brother naming his son Philip J. Fry after Fry, who he misses, and then we see Fry at his nephew's grave, crying

29. On Golden Girls, when Sophia finally broke down over the death of her son:

Angela tells Sophia that her son was a good man, and Sophia says, "My baby is gone." Sophia hugs her and says, "Oh, Sophia..."

30. On Black-ish, when Dre and Bow decided to separate and take space:

the two agree to take space, then Dre asks how they got there as he's leaving, and Bow cries and says she doesn't know

31. On Trailer Park Boys, when Julian left and Bubbles found his letter and started crying:

Julian hitchhikes and Bubbles finds the letter, holding it up and crying

32. On Please Like Me, when Rose killed herself:

Claire tells Josh things will be bad for a while and slowly get better, and Josh says that his last few conversations with his mom felt like her trying to say goodbye, then breaks down sobbing on the bed
