All The Times History Was Made At The 2022 SAG Awards

The 28th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards went down tonight, and when it came to the winners, history was made.

Troy Kotsur became the first deaf actor to win the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, for his (in my opinion, outstanding) performance in the uplifting dramedy Coda.

That's not all: The main cast of Coda also won the top prize of Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture — marking the first time a cast made up of predominantly deaf actors won the award.

With three wins (including Outstanding Action Performance as a Stunt Ensemble), the Netflix hit Squid Game became the first Korean TV show and the first foreign language TV series to win SAGs.

And with her win for West Side Story, Ariana DeBose became the first Latina to take home the award for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role — as well as the first queer woman of color to do so.
