"I’m like, ‘There’s no way I’m gonna be on camera during this.'"

Alright, I have no need to remind you of the details of the great Slappening at this year's Oscars. How could we forget?!

Well, one other moment that captured the internet's imagination that night happened when the award for Best Director was being presented shortly after the incident...

During the presentation, all the other celebrities are watching the show and Andrew Garfield is looking down at his phone

...And, yup, Andrew Garfield could be seen texting away in the background.

Well, Andrew was asked about his lil' texty-text on a recent appearance on The View. In response to a question about what he was texting about, he joked, "That's none of your business. I don't know what you're talking about. No comment on the Slapgate."

"I feel so bad because Kevin Costner’s introducing the director nominees in the most beautiful and elegant way, and I’m like, ‘There’s no way I’m gonna be on camera during this,’” he continued.

"And everyone's texting me asking me what they're asking me, what the vibe in the room is. At that moment, my friends took priority over Kevin. But I feel really bad about that.”

When pushed if he was texting after the slap, Andrew said that the hosts could "rewatch the order of the Oscars if you really want to do detective work." Luckily for me, an idiot with Google, I can confirm it was after!

Thankfully, Andrew seems a bit tired of the slap hot takes as well, because when asked to comment on it, he replied, "Everything’s been said. There’s no need for me to weigh in on that."

And on that note, I'm outta here.
