Also starring Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman, Futurama's revival is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2023. So far, 20 episodes are set to air on Hulu, and Futurama creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen will return as showrunners.

Aside from a crossover with The Simpsons, Bender and the Planet Express Crew were last seen in the Futurama episode, "Meanwhile."

In this series finale, Fry accidentally froze time throughout the universe, but still managed to live a long, happy life married to Leela. But in the last scene, Professor Farnsworth appeared with the ability to fix time by rewinding it back to before it froze, leaving the door open for more wacky sci-fi adventures with them.

The news about Futurama's FOURTH revival came back in February, but fans were disappointed when they heard DiMaggio had not been confirmed to return as Bender.

It's hard to imagine anyone else playing Bender on the show, so naturally, fans were up in arms as they began #Bendergate, proclaiming they wouldn't support the show if DiMaggio wasn't in it. However, fans can rest easy knowing that their favorite chain-smoking robot will truly return with the rest of the Planet Express Crew.

"I'M BACK, BABY! So damn grateful for the love and support of fans and colleagues alike during this whole time (especially my wife, Kate), and I cannot wait to get back to work with my Futurama family," said DiMaggio.

"#Bendergate is officially over, so put it on the back of a shelf behind Xmas decorations, or maybe in that kitchen drawer with all the other crap you put in there like old unusable crazy glue, or maybe even put it in a jar you save farts in. Whatever floats your boat, I don't care, you get the picture. I'M BACK, BABY! BITE MY SHINY METAL ASS!"

"John DiMaggio may be a great robot, but he's also a great human being," said Cohen.

"Not many people or machines can say that. For the fourth time, it's a once-in-a-lifetime thrill to be back with our entire original cast and the phenomenal animators of Rough Draft Studios."
