"I couldn't express who I was becoming."

If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you've probably found yourself missing the show since it ended way back in 2019.

OK, 2019 wasn't that long ago — but it sure feels like it was!

During a recent interview with GQ UK, Maisie was asked what part of being on Game of Thrones she misses the most.

“Can I say none of it?” she replied.

Maisie explained that she doesn't think it's "healthy" to miss it, and that she "loved" the show. “I look at it so fondly, and I look at it with such pride," she said.

"But why would I want to make myself feel sad about the greatest thing that ever happened to me? I don’t want to associate that with feelings of pain.”

Maisie also said that she began "resenting" the role of Arya Stark when she "started becoming a woman," because she "couldn't express who I was becoming."

“And then I also resented my body, because it wasn’t aligned with the piece of me that the world celebrated.”

She was also careful in her response as to whether she'd ever play Arya again. "I’m not saying it would never happen, but I’m also not saying it in this interview so that everyone goes…‘The spin-off! It’s coming!’ Because it’s not.”

Helen Sloan / HBO

“It has to be the right time and the right people,” she explained further. “It has to be right in the context of all the other spin-offs and the universe of Game of Thrones."

"It has to be the right time for me."
