It doesn't make sense, but who cares!
The Lost City is an adventure comedy film about a romance author and her "rescuer" who are being hunted by a minted rogue who wants the author's help to unearth the titular lost city. Obviously, there are 🚨spoilers🚨 ahead.

The ensemble cast is led by Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph, while Brad Pitt makes a guest appearance as a macho and magnetic ex-military guy who comes to rescue Bullock and Tatum. Sadly, Pitt's character (Jack Trainer) dies a gruesome death shortly after he appears, leaving Bullock and Tatum stranded in the jungle.
Thanks to the MCU movies, post-credit/mid-credit scenes have become a staple of action comedy movies. And The Lost City isn't untouched by it. Viewers who waited in their seats while the credits rolled were rewarded with a funny and surprising sequence.

The mid-credits scene features Alan and Loretta meditating in a yoga class, and Jack is revealed to be in attendance sitting behind them. He is somehow alive despite having his brain blown to bits. When they realize that he is with them, they are naturally startled and enquire him about his miraculous survival.
Jack Trainer gives a very ludicrous explanation. He tells them that since humans use only 10% of their brains, after getting shot, he merely transferred all the brain functions to a different 10% of his remaining cerebrum — though he does admit that he is dealing with some lingering anger and resentment.

The film's co-directors and co-writers Adam and Aaron Nee told EW that this scene was written because they wanted to extract the maximum out of Brad Pitt's involvement in this movie.

Adam Nee said, "Once we knew we had Brad in the film, we were like, 'We are going to soak up every minute of this guy's time. We're going to make him hate saying yes to this movie.' So we slipped him these pages, and we're like, 'We wrote a scene where you're alive at the end,' and he's like, 'Okay, this is crazy.' But he was so game."
He also added, " We really wanted this movie to feel like this joyous escape, and everyone loves this character. We love this character, and we like the idea that he could have more adventures, too, even if he has gone through a really traumatic incident."
Adam's brother Aaron revealed that they had researched headshot wounds to get an idea about the chances of survival after being shot in the head.

He said, "We also, by the way, started researching headshot wounds and discovered how remarkably you can survive quite a number of types of shots to the head. It's actually completely plausible [that he could live]."
Fans loved the mid-credits scene, and here are a few reactions:
