If you've been watching The Dropout, the latest series about fraud and failure to take the internet by storm, you may be wondering just how close the show is to what went down IRL.

The series tells the true tale of Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes, who falsely claimed her biotech company could run rapid blood tests using only small samples of blood. It put thousands in danger — and she was ultimately charged with 11 counts of fraud in 2018 and found guilty on four counts earlier this year.

Elizabeth is portrayed by Amanda Seyfried on the show, and honestly, she's a pretty great fit for the role.
